Ergonomics:
Although the osteopaths and physiotherapists at the Central London
Osteopathy and Sports Injury Clinic in the City of London diagnose and treat
the full range of muscular-skeletal problems, we also have specialists in
treating problems that occur because of patient's occupations.
These aren't just the kind of problems suffered by drivers, manual workers
and
workers who spend long periods at computer terminals - we treat a number of
classical musicians and even circus performers!

Our ergonomists are able to undertake computer workstation assessments and
training in line with the Display Equipment Regulations. This can be done
for individuals with existing problems, or ideally as company-wide training
to prevent staff having problems in the first place. The assessments look
at the correct workstation set up including chair adjustment, screen and
keyboard positioning as well as use of paperwork, phone and environment
factors such as lighting.

Having a workstation assessment complements the treatments you may have at
the clinic, by addressing work related issues that may be the underlying
cause or contributing to your injury. This will often mean people need
fewer treatments to be free of pain and prevents the problem returning in
the future.

David shares his time between Osteopathy and Ergonomics. He has a degree in
Ergonomics from Loughborough University (1990) and has over 17 years
ergonomics experience. As well computer workstation assessments and
training, David can assess any workplace including artists, textile
designers and ticket desks. He does a lot of work with Royal Mail involving
Manual Handling assessments and equipment design and development. For more
