Acupuncture:
The aim of acupuncture isn’t, in fact, just to cure people of their ailments, but our acupuncturists aim to rebalance the body’s energy systems, maximising the body’s ability to heal itself and boosting its immune systems.
Acupuncture complements the other treatments offered at the London Osteopathy and Sports Injury Clinics and although it is often used in conjunction with osteopathy, physiotherapy or sports massage, it is an incredibly effective treatment in its own right.
Most people are aware that acupuncture is effective in treating the full range of muscular-skeletal problems, migraine, pre-menstrual syndrome and period pain, but acupuncture is also effective in treating addictions, depression and anxiety, sleeping problems (in adults and children) and many other complaints.
Our Acupuncturists:
Claudia Ferreira, Acupuncturist:
Claudia competed for Brazil in swimming and has complemented her massage skills with the full education in acupuncture, so her treatments are often a combination of both. - she has created her own speciality in combining these fields for a complete health care.
Ann Bradford, BAcC, RCHM, M.Sc, Acupuncturist:
Ann is an experienced practitioner, who has been in practice for 20 years.
She uses acupuncture, Tui Na (chinese Therapeutic Massage) and Kkanpo (Japanese Massage) in her clinic.
After completing her training in the UK she travelled to China where she worked in a hospital in Nanjing.
She then worked as acupuncturist in an NHS clinic in the Royal Free Hospital before going into private acupuncture practice.
For the past 11 years she has been lecturing acupuncture at the University of Westminster, where she is a senior lecturer on the BSc Hons course in acupuncture.
You will find that many established acupuncturists in London actually are former acupuncture students of Ann.
She enjoys treating a wide range of problems including sports and musculo-skeletal injuries.
She has special interest areas, which include treatment of women's problems (gynaecological etc) and treatment of children.
She has a wide range of alternative techniques to acupuncture for those children (and adults) who are fearful of needles but still want a complete health care.
